Appliance Removal: What You Need to Know
Appliances are heavy, awkward, and sometimes regulated—especially refrigerators and AC units with refrigerant. A smooth pickup starts with clear access, safe disconnects, and honest communication about stairs and tight corners.
Before we lift anything
- Shut off water to washers; electric ranges should be disconnected by a qualified person if hardwired.
- Empty refrigerators; prop doors open a day ahead to reduce odor if it will sit.
- Measure door swings and tell us about steps.
Refrigerant handling has specific rules. If your unit still contains refrigerant, say so—we coordinate proper recovery paths when required.
