Privacy Notice

Effective date: August 1, 2026

This notice explains how the Southern California Bolt Riders (SCBR) Sturgis 2026 trip guide handles information. The guide is a private crew planning tool, not a public consumer product.

1. Information used by the site

  • The SCBR username and password you submit are used only to authenticate access to the trip guide. Passwords are compared against private server environment variables and are not stored as a password database by this application.
  • An essential secure session cookie keeps you signed in while you use the guide.
  • Theme selection (Day or Night Mode) and completed-stop progress are stored locally on your device (for example in browser localStorage).
  • Hosting infrastructure may process ordinary technical logs such as IP address, browser information, request time, and error details needed to operate and secure the service.

2. Location

  • Location is requested only after an explicit action you take in the guide (for example estimating distance to a stop).
  • When provided, location is used to estimate distance to a selected stop. Exact coordinates are not intentionally saved in localStorage, added to crew records, or shared with other riders.
  • You can deny or revoke location permission at any time through your browser or device settings.

3. Crew contacts

  • Crew contact details are available only inside the authenticated trip guide.
  • Riders must not copy, publish, or use contact information for unrelated purposes.

4. Third parties

  • When you choose to open a Google Maps link, Google receives the information needed to fulfill that request (such as destination details in the link). Google’s services operate under Google’s own terms and privacy policies.
  • Hosting is provided by Vercel. Vercel may process technical request data as part of delivering the site.
  • The site may use Vercel Web Analytics for aggregate usage insights. It is not used for advertising and does not rely on advertising cookies. Third-party services operate under their own privacy terms.

5. Cookies and local storage

  • Essential authentication session cookie
  • Theme preference stored on your device
  • Route completion progress stored on your device
  • This site does not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking for marketing.
  • No cookie-consent banner is displayed because only essential and rider-requested storage is currently used.
  • If analytics, advertising, or other tracking practices change later, this notice and consent behavior must be reviewed before those changes ship.

6. Retention and control

  • You can clear route progress using Reset Trip Progress in the guide.
  • You can remove saved browser data (including localStorage and site data) through your browser settings.
  • Logging out removes or invalidates the authentication session cookie for this guide.

7. Security

Reasonable safeguards are used to protect access to the guide, including authenticated pages and an encrypted session cookie. No website or internet transmission can be guaranteed completely secure. Protect your device, do not share login credentials publicly, and sign out on shared devices when appropriate.

8. Changes and contact

This notice may be updated as the trip guide changes. The effective date above shows when this version took effect.

Questions about this notice may be directed to the designated SCBR trip administrator through your crew communication channels. Do not publish a private rider’s phone number on this page without approval.
